About
As the web site indicates, my name is Marc Paradise. I am a software developer in the Wilmington, DE area, on the East coast of the US. I have 14 years of professional experience, with much of that time spent in the financial industry. More recently, I have been doing consulting work in the gaming industry and for various one-off projects. Most of my development experience has been in C++, Java, and C#. Prior to my entry into IT, I’ve worked on a farm, as a landscaper, and running stage lighting for cover bands.
My interests cover a broad range and include several different types of software design and development (mobile, game, framework), practical/real-life usage of design patterns, and the application of gaming technology in everyday computing.
My experience has taught me of many common practices in the software development industry that — and experience and logic both have taught me that some of these are good while others are quite not. Such learning is likely to be recurring themes in discussions here.
